This project is located on Grove Avenue at the site of the former Westhampton Theatre building and around the Westhampton Continental restaurant in Richmond, Virginia. HG Design Studio assisted our client with the sensitive neighborhood zoning challenges, planning and civil engineering.
Production and design included screening requirements and side/rear yard setbacks required where the site is adjacent to an R district; developing a schematic site plan to include vehicular paving (at-grade parking areas as well as vehicular access); pedestrian paving; and other hardscape elements including stairs, walls, or ramps; working with the project team to determine location for project services such as dumpster, transformer, generator, and other equipment. Scope also consisted of Site Plan, Stormwater Compliance Plan, Utility Relocation Plan (coordinated with City of Richmond Utilities), Site Lighting Plan, Grading and Drainage Plan, City Minimum Planting Plan and plant schedule, hardscape details including paving, bollards, railings, walls, and related site elements, planting details and Special Use Permit (SUP) application and applicant’s report.
Westhampton on Grove won the honor of Top Mixed-Use Project at GRACRE’s 2020 Annual Real Estate Awards.
