Hancock Village Retail Center

Hancock Village Retail Center

Hancock Village is an 88-acre retail center located between Brandermill and Woodlake neighborhoods in Chesterfield County, Virginia.  The center features numerous nationally recognized brands including a 200,000 square foot Wal-Mart Supercenter.

The developer wanted to create a retail center which was well-lit, highly visible to Route 360, and met the strict guidelines of the county’s planning commission.  The most challenging aspect of the project was to keep the entire project very pedestrian-friendly while maximizing the opportunities for out-parcels.

HG designed a landscape plan that both met the county’s requirements and provided ample growth potential for future site development.  Additionally, the pedestrian friendly design included traffic circles, inviting landscaping, and brick walking paths.  Finally, the lighting plan created a well-lit and safe environment without impacting the surrounding properties.
