Trip Down Memory Lane: UR The Forum

Starting in 2002, HG Design Studio assisted the University of Richmond with The Forum, a space that unifies several otherwise lost buildings on campus. The Forum’s place on the campus was once the connection between the men’s and women’s campuses. This connection is now marked by a broad circular brick paved plaza. The circle also creates an enchanting pedestrian overlook of the University’s signature Westhampton Lake. The overlook is a lower terrace which follows the slope of the hillside toward the lake. The design has been intricately laid out using brick, granite and cast stone with accents of custom designed metal railings.

HG provided schematic design, design development, construction documentation and administration for The Forum. The site was designed to beautify the area as well as provide a space that was functional and efficient.
